Shoes are the only things, other than bags, books and delectable food, that I’m willing to splurge on. So there’s a singular joy in finding a shoe that I can wear everyday that DOESN’T necessitate splurging. The Sebago Astoria Boot ($165) and the Sebago Exo Boot ($135) are two such shoes. Dress ’em up, dress ’em down, pair ’em with denim, leggings, skirts . . . and every other item of clothing to round out your ‘fit.

Kim rockin’ the Exo Boot. (great gift idea for a lover of wine colored suede! Did I mention they are available at Reed Space?!)

The Astoria can be worn while balancing on tiny fences in the rain or sipping orange juice in floral jeans at your local bodega.

It’s that wondrous time of the year when we roll up the green, our noses take on a reddish hue, we stay out that icy blue, we wait for that white to hit, and make sure the youngin’s know to never ever eat the yellow snow. The Christmas season is upon us and your friends at the Space know how important it is to spread that holiday cheer. So we put our heads together and came up with a good little list of joints you might want playing in the background while you’re wrapping presents or serving up that coquito.

If you love 90’s rap you’ve no doubt caught wind of Roc’s devolutionary style taking center stage amongst fans as of late. From an outstanding turn on Bronson’s “Pouches Of Tuna” earlier this year, to dropping his own Reloaded LP, the Brooklyn MC definitely begins 2013 with more eyes on him than ever before. Let’s see what he does with it.

There were definitely plenty of story lines to talk about after this weekend in the NFL. But I’m more intrigued by what will happen at the Garden tonight. For the first time as a member of the Rockets, Jeremy Lin returns to the place where Linsanity began. He has indeed struggled this season, while his replacement at the point (Raymond Felton) has thrived. And while the Knicks have been the best team in the East, the Rockets have stumbled to an 11-12 record. Yet, this past summer, no one envisioned Lin in anything but a uniform that said New York on the front. After the month he had before he was shelved for the season, and the marketing possibilities that everyone was dreaming about, Lin re-signing seemed inevitable. Yet, here we are tonight. Lin is part of a young backcourt filled with potential. The Knicks have gotten off to their best start in 20 years, and Linsanity is a distant memory. I know he will be cheered loudly when he’s introduced, and he might show some of those skills that made him the sensation he was. But I will forever remember him for dropping 38 on the Lakers and for this game winner. Good luck to you and your team, but Let’s Go Knicks.

The New York Giants football team, who at the time were division leaders of the NFC East, got blown out at the Georgia Dome yesterday a wopping 34-0. With this loss the Giants slide to the bottom of a 3-way tie for first place with Dallas and Washington.

Oh how gloomy Mondays can be…

Everyone knows that if you want to start drinking at 10am in the morning and have the means to do so, you’re gonna start drinking at 10am in the morning. Despite this fact, people seem intent on making day-drinking seem more like a socially acceptable practice (and less like a practice many think is better left to alcoholics) by organizing themed pub crawls. I’m not mad at these people. My affinity for day-drinking and day-drinkers is rightfully surpassed by my affinity for day-drinking and day-drinkers in costume. So thank you organizers of yesterday’s Santa Claus Pub Crawl and thankkkkk you organizers of NYC’s Santa Con, I salute you and your holiday spirit.

Also thank you to the three pictured below for happily taking a photo after I accosted you on the sidewalk after a day of drinking. Krumpus and X-mas tree, I ESPECIALLY appreciate you!

My fondest memory as a kid growing up in New York City was riding my bike up first avenue, pulling up to Patsy’s on 116th st. and having a slice of pizza. Living in NYC you become a veteran when it comes to eating pizza. You MUST fold your slice in half, hold onto the cheese and devour from one end down to the crust, complete. Here are some of my favorite pizza joints in NYC. (in NO PARTICULAR ORDER because my love for pizza is infinite! Can’t forget the infamous dollar slice!)

  1. Patsy’s
  2. Dani’s
  3. Artichoke
  4. Lombardi’s
  5. Grimaldi’s
