As of today, Usain Bolt, the man said to have been struck by lightning, has cemented himself in the Olympic record books as the fastest man ever. Bolt has not lost a single running event in the Rio Olympics, yet he only knows how to smile and dance once he steps onto the track. The Jamaican-runner definitely came a long way though. We’ve all been members of the infamous “procrasti-NATION” at one point or another. Even typing this up right now I may or may not have gotten a little distracted by this John Oliver clip on Nuclear Weapons from 2014… but that’s not what we’re really here for, is it? The crazy thing about procrastination is that although it may seem like a thought out choice to be lazy and avoid priorities, it’s actually an effect of the nature of habit. And there’s even science to explain it! But all in all, we usually know it’s a better idea to, for example, just take out the garbage instead of spending 10 hours watching funny videos online. The question is, how do we overcome the urge to just abandon our responsibilities? Lucky for us, full-time procrastinator and part-time filmmaker Stuart Langfield began to piece the puzzle together.
