HOW TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION

We’ve all been members of the infamous “procrasti-NATION” at one point or another. Even typing this up right now I may or may not have gotten a little distracted by this John Oliver clip on Nuclear Weapons from 2014… but that’s not what we’re really here for, is it? The crazy thing about procrastination is that although it may seem like a thought out choice to be lazy and avoid priorities, it’s actually an effect of the nature of habit. And there’s even science to explain it! But all in all, we usually know it’s a better idea to, for example, just take out the garbage instead of spending 10 hours watching funny videos online. The question is, how do we overcome the urge to just abandon our responsibilities? Lucky for us, full-time procrastinator and part-time filmmaker Stuart Langfield began to piece the puzzle together. Granted, it was about six-months ago but he eventually got the job done. Don’t put off watching Langfield and his colleagues sift through the world of science, studies, data and theories to uncover what we know about procrastination & to find out if it’s possible to conjure a cure.

But, sometimes, these colors overpower one another and don’t get the equal opportunity to flourish. Luckily, filmmaker Danil Krivoruchko had his camera handy and the vision to let all of New York’s color show in his short film, “NYC Flow.” Take an extra-trippy look at New York City here.
