Earlier in the year, STAPLE dropped an entirely new style with Converse called the Seastar Mid and blessed it with their trademark Pigeon motif. Converse asked used to revisit the style, but this time, for the CONVERSE 1HUND(RED) Campaign. This version helps to save lives in Africa. The Converse 1HUND(RED) initiative is a year-long global project celebrating a partnership to celebrate the artistic spirit and help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
In keeping with the (RED) theme, STAPLE kept this version simple: Black, White and RED. And yes, if it feels a ‘lil “23″ to you, it ain’t a coincidence. Same features as the earlier Pigeon version are all present and accounted for. Mid cut puffed out collar to give it more comfort, warmth and protection. Outsole features nautical inspired terms in case you’re stuck out in the high seas. And the exterior of the collar is water resistant as well.
The new Converse 1HUND(RED) x Staple Design Sea Star will premiere October 8th, 2009 and be sold exclusively at Reed Space in New York City.
