“In keeping with the tradition of supporting and showcasing artists within our line, Staple is proud to announce our latest collaborative capsule collection featuring the artwork of Naturel. Hailing from Washington, D.C., Naturel is an up-and-coming artist known for his neo-cubist style and novel interpretations of street culture references, such as hip hop icons Pharrell, Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., his signature skeleton icons, sneakers, liquor bottles, and nude figures. Naturel draws from experience, having been a veteran of the hip hop world and first started out as a rapper himself. He often inserts his own personal symbols such as red flowers into his work, and a “Jesus Piece,” an abstracted gold pendant, later produced by the streetwear jeweler, Mr. Flawless. High brow and low brow worlds collide within Naturel’s creative canvases and his work has attracted celebrity collectors and investors such as Spike Lee, Rihanna, and Lebron James.”

“Founder of Staple Design, jeffstaple, is back with the latest episode of his highly successful 1-2-1 video series. This time around, he sits down with Mike Cherman of ICNY in his design studio in Brooklyn. During the interview, Mike describes his journey from being an art college-dropout to owning an emerging brand that was originally created out of necessity, safety, and functionality. The two also share their sides of the incredible story of how Cherman’s job attempt with jeffstaple landed him in jail rather than securing him a job. The two designers look back on their full circle history as they celebrate their latest capsule collection in collaboration.”
