This year Puma is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Puma Clyde, a stylish sneaker designed with Walt “Clyde” Frazier’s performance needs and signature style in mind. Yesterday, in anticipation of the Puma Pigeon, a collaboration Clyde with Staple Design’s popular pigeon colorway, Walt “Clyde” Frazier sat down with Jeff Staple for an intimate interview. Frazier discussed fashion, his musical idols and how they influenced his sense of style, being a tastemaker and influencer, and his illustrious basketball career. He was also gracious enough to leave his audience with Clyde’s Keys for Success. I’ll leave you with one gem: “Don’t procrastinate; DEVASTATE.”

From Germany to Japan to New York City…this project has been a year in the making and I’m so proud to finally be able to share it with everyone!
The Puma Pigeon Suede by Staple.
Handmade in Japan and highly limited in numbers (about 500 worldwide). We have always had a history of working with the most iconic brands and the most iconic styles within each brand. The Puma Suede, in my opinion, is one of the most important silhouettes in sneaker history. It’s also very important to me that this first collaboration with Puma is individually hand-crafted in Japan—my adopted second home. Big shout out to the Puma Japan team for making this a reality.

The Puma Pigeon Suede will be available exclusively here at Reed Space NYC on April 17th in-store only. (No phone. No web orders for now.) They will be US$200. We open at 12pm on 4/17. First come first serve basis. Please enter on the 151 Orchard Street entrance. The rest of the world gets them May 3rd. The global distribution list will be released shortly.

Good friend of the space, Levi Maestro, continues to impress us – setting out to create a longstanding series of products we might think we’ve come to know already, yet adding a refreshing new twist. I got my first glimpse of the Infinity Piece on the wrist of the boss jeffstaple. Designey, I thought. Kind of interesting. When I finally got my own over a month ago, I put it on and just stared at it for a bit. Aesthetically speaking, it’s just beautiful. The genuine stingray band and brushed rose gold plated steel hits the light in a special way. I’ve worn it every day since.
